Book One: The Fire Does Not Consume

 Prologue

Arjuna rushed into the tent. Draupadi looked up. She did not know what made her come there that day. Some sixth sense had drawn her thither.

She had come to learn that Vasusena and Arjuna were battling. Yudhistira had told her about his defeat at Vasusena’s hands.

“He did not even injure you seriously?” She had been surprised.

Yudhistira had frowned. “It really is strange, now that you mention it,” said he.

They had waited in the tent, waiting for some news from the battlefield. The sun went down and yet, no messenger came with any news.

Draupadi felt an overwhelming sense of relief at seeing Arjuna. Her husband was safe!

Yudhistira too jumped up as he saw Arjuna.

“He is dead,” said Arjuna. “Suyodhana’s staunchest ally, our bitterest enemy, my greatest rival is dead. Vasusena is dead.”

Yudhistira laughed, a laugh…

Those Eyes

68ac9dd7b85b71a70bec8f6e4e464c49

All the pairs of eyes in that great sayamvar hall were concentrated at him, the applauds for him were echoing all over the places. Also tensions were arising in form of heated arguments between Kshatriya kings and Brahmin guests as the young Brahmin succeed to hit the fish eye which none could. Its obvious that had hurt the ego before their eyes an unnamed Brahmin youth have won Aryavart’s most exotic princess. The discussion had been already broken whether this youth is really a Brahmin or a Kshatriya in guise. Because his feature, bow marks on dusky soldier archery prowess can be possessed by a royal Kshatriya prince only. “Who the youth is?” only one question was roaming among everyone present there. But all the while the youth was untouched by all the happenings that surrounded him. As if what was happening was an everyday affair for him. The dark flame like beauty has garlanded him just now. The love the admiration the pride had been filled her ocean like eyes for him can be regarded best prize for him He knows that. But even after winning most celebrated princess of Panchal he still seemed restrained from losing himself.
All because of those two jet black lotus eyes he knows. That is not letting him concentrating in anything around him. Neither satisfaction of achieving a visibly impossible target nor winning Panchali nor all the tension and applaud was affecting Kaunteya Arjuna at all. The moment he had stepped into the hall he can sense the eyes following him, his every movement, his every action, rather his every breath was observed by those eyes. It seems to him wherever he goes he can’t escape the eyes. Those eyes had been imprisoned him inside its gaze. Rather it will be more suitable to say that those glance is caressing him. Arjun can sense the caress through every cells. It shivers him as if a leaf moves in air. It feels like whatever today he had done to please owner of those mysterious glance. He cant even explain why he is feeling such. But he is sure the eyes that watching him had formed a strong connection with his inner self.
The strangest fact was Arjun doesn’t know who is watching him such intensely. Of which gender of which age the person belong to he cant figure out. He is not even sure whether it is of entire different entity all together. At first when he had sensed the gaze he had thought it to be of Draupadi herself. He glares into her eyes to be sure only to find out immense love admiration and pride for him. But no the hypnotizing aura of the glare was not present there. Seeing own image in eyes of princess Krishnaa could have seemed a blessed gift for him if he was not occupied by the mystic eyes. He was not only confused knowing it was not Yagyaseni to hypnotize him but he was extremely uncomfortable. Never this had happened to him. Young prince knows how his charm is irresistible among people around him especially to women. He can even now see the proof in Panchali’s expressions. But today he feels to be receiving end of this irresistible attraction of someone he can’t even locate.
Arjun again looks all around hall. No the person is not visible to him. The owner of the eyes must be sitting over those high dais from where Arjun can be seen but Arjun can’t see. And now a battle is going to ensue with other royal guests. Now in this moment he can’t go to check who the person is. From uneasiness and annoyance Arjun turns more violent in the fight. And even then he could sense its that very person at the moment feel most proud of him.
And then seeing his and brother Bheem’s prowess those kings absconded from war. And Arjun could see some of the kings are looking at the dais as if listening to some invisible person. Arjun is sure it is the same mysterious entity imparting some sense to them that impeds them proceeding in war. Unfortunately Arjun was far away from the place to even see or hear anything. But soon after all those kings seen leaving peacefully including their cousins of hastinapur. Arjun knows its result of that special person’s teaching to them. Arjun sighs to realise if now he approaches towards dais that will give wrong message to kings. And that’s what the eyes don’t want.
Panchal prince Dhristadyumna brings his sister to Arjun. “thanks to vasudev situation is under control now. “o mighty Brahman veer take our Krishna to home.”
Arjun knows after that he can’t stay any longer. That is against dignity. He stepped outside with Draupadi following him. Realizing he is now going to be out of those eyesight Arjun’s heart becomes heavy. No matter how much uncomfortable he was feeling its true he was not willing to miss those glance at all.
“will I be ever able to find out who was this? ” thinks Arjun. Only then as lightening it strikes to him. What did Dhristadyumna say? Thanks to Vasudeva? Vaasudeva? Son of his never seen maternal uncle Basudev? Is it him? But he has two sons? Balram and more famous one ? ah what the name was? So many names he had but the one he is addressed? Why memory betraying?”
In an effort to remember Arjun again looks around him and his eyes fell upon Panchal princess who silently following him. Rajkumari Krishnaa…Krishnaa …KRISHNA!!!!! VASUDEV KRISHNA!!!!

Samraat is generally an early riser. He practices pranayam in early morning. But today his meditation gets interrupted with a chaos. But before he could ask the maids Sutanu enters room running.
“pitashree, pitashree see kakashree Nakul has become furious.”
“furious on what?” Yudhisthir asked to himself as Sutanu was running pulling his hand. He found the gathering near gate again. Centre of the gathering was Nakul who was shouting to everyone left right and centre. Maids and guards were trembling with folding hands. A tensed Panchali was trying to pacify him. Subhadra was asking Sahadev something clutching a frightened Ruchiparvan in arm. Bheem was laughing standing nearby. But most important person is missing from the gathering. Where is Arjun?

“Nakul’s Daughter is missing.” informed Bheem seeing Yudhisthir approaching.
“what? A royal child is missing from Indraprastha? And why everyone is wasting time here. Not trying to search the princess? Why didn’t anyone inform me about this more importantly? And where is Arjun?” Yudhisthir was never so confused before.
“Arjun is missing since morning as well. And that explains all.” Bheem laughed.
Before Yudhisthir could react Nakul comes running to him
“Jyesth Bhrata, bhrata Arjun has been disappeared with my daughter.” says Nakul with choked voice. Yudhisthir sees his beautiful brother is looking devastated. His hairs are all messy, his robes are dirty, his eyes are red due to sleepless night and crying. Tears are dried on his cheek. There are dirt mixed on his sweat and tears that covered his golden complexion. Yudhisthir feels bad for his beautiful younger brother. Its true Nakul is obsessed with his daughter but Arjun must not play with his brother’s emotion like this.
“but how could Arjun took princess without your knowledge?”
“I was in stable for whole night.” says Nakul trying hard to control his tear.
“samrat you better ask bhrata Sahadev. I am sure he knows something.” Says Subhadra with angry glance towards tensed Sahadev.
“bhabhi I..” Sahadev gasped.
“Aarya now I got what Aarya Dhananjaya was whispering to you last night. That is why you didn’t call me while I was sleeping late?” Panchali frowned with narrow eyes.
” No Panchali I just was letting you sleep as you were tired because of whole day cooking and stuff” Sahadev tries to clarify.
“and that’s why you made me more tired last night.” thinks Panchali “perhaps Aarya Arjun suggested that too.” she pouted.
“Dev” Nakul grabbed his twin brother’s neck. “just tell me what you know. Otherwise I am not going to leave you.” Nakul shouts at a struggling Sahadev. Youngest Pandav wondered he never had idea his beautiful twin possess such strength.
“Nakul don’t leave him. Remember what wrestling skill I have taught you till date.” Bheem laughed loud.
“Aarya” Panchali snapped at Vrikodar.
“Dev do you really know something?” asked Yudhisthir. “tell us don’t keep silent. Can you lie to me?” Yudhisthir was calm yet grave.
“No bhrata, I am telling the truth.  I have no idea what bhrata Arjun’s plan was. He only asked me to give princess to Abhi as Abhi wants to play with little sister sometimes which Nakul doesn’t approve.” Sahadev managed to say while struggling to free himself from Nakul’s grip. But Nakul seemed way too desperate today.
“and that’s why you let Abhi to take princess in early morning? How the hell you can be such naive?” growled Nakul twisting His twin’s arm. Sahadev moaned as his wrist ached.
“Aarya please leave my husband. You are hurting him.” Panchali was tensed.
“he is my twin Panchali.none can feel better about his pain than me. But today none will come between us.” shouted Nakul. “tell  dev where did Abhi take her.”
“trust me Nakul I don’t know.” cried Sahadev.
“I know, in the forest.” everyone’s rolled eyes turned towards youngest member present in the family.
“Parvan!! How do you know that?” Subhadra was wonderstruck.
“I heard pitashree talking to Abhi bhrata.” says Ruchiparvan confidently.
Subhadra sighs. If only she could get up early. But Aarya had tired her out way too much last night. Her fair cheek reddened recalling Arjun’s passion.
“in forest with a nine months old girl.” Nakul collapsed in tears leaving Sahadev.
“has Arjun gone nuts or what?” Bheem pulls Nakul. ” lets go and catch them.” he drags Nakul towards the horses.
“I also want to go pitashree” requests Sutanu.
“okay Panchali take her” orders  Yudhisthir as he hurried to the chariot.
When they entered into forest it didn’t take much time for Nakul to locate by following birds’ chirping where had the third pandav gone.
But what they got to see freezes them in the very position they were.

Arjun’s white horse was standing beneath a mango tree. Abhimanyu has climbed the tree. He can be seen through the branches. He is plucking ripe mangoes.
Few yards away Arjun is standing with the baby on his shoulder under a grape tree. Where the baby was plucking the grapes. And Arjun collecting on basket.
“bhrataa what you are doing? There can be several insects.” cried Nakul and jumped towards his brother but with a swift Arjun has moved from there.
“don’t disturb Nakul we are busy gathering fruits cant you see?” says Arjun standing beneath a lemon tree. And the girl was as usual busy in grabbing a lemon.
Sutanu and Ruchiparvan also had come down from chariot and started picking up the fruits from land.
Panchali and Subhadra tried to scold their children but of no avail. Yudhisthir stopped his brothers and both the kulvadhus to come between Arjun and Nakul with eyes. He wants to see where the matter turns first.
The more Nakul tries to catch Arjun the more Arjun keeps on moving from one tree to another. Nakul gave up at last in fear that Arjun can lose his balance and drop the baby.
“please bhrata I beg you take her off your shoulder.” Nakul collapsed in tear.
“as my little brother wishes.”
Arjun’s next action brought the chills through not only Nakul’s but through everyone’s blood.
He held the feet of baby swinged her upside down and then again holds her back.
“nooo” Nakul closed his eyes in fear to witness something dangerous.
“Aarya!!enough of this.” shouted Panchali. “put my daughter down.”
“Panchali is right. Arjun Give Nakul his princess back. Cant you  see his situation?” Yudhisthir seemed annoyed.
“let him the baby down then I myself will swing Arjun in same way.” groans Bheem.
“ofcourse bhrata I will have nice exercise then just like the princess had now.”

“Aarya won’t you stop joking for once?” Subhadra was really annoyed.
“I am serious Bhadra. This is necessary for child to do for once. Their blood circulation get smoothly if we swing them upside down. Ask Sahadev if you doubt.” says Arjun.”even Nakul knows it.” Sahadev nods approvingly
“enough is enough.” growled Nakul and snatched away the baby from Arjun. “bhrata just because you don’t have any daughter you just don’t know how to handle girl child. They are way soft than boys.”
Everyone was shocked of Nakul’s rudeness towards Arjun. But before they says anything the baby girl starts crying holding hand out to Arjun. More Nakul tries to calm her down more she screams. Even Panchali failed to calm her. An amused Arjun takes the girl back and immediately the girl stops crying and start giggling.
“I don’t discriminate between baby boy and baby girl, got it my little brother?” smirks Arjun.
“I am sorry bhrata.” an ashamed Nakul bends his head down. He realized he was wrong being such obsessed with his daughter. Arjun ruffled Nakul’s hair in affection.
“and sorry Dev, I hurt you.” Nakul embraced Sahadev tightly.
“So tell me Nakul who’s daughter she is?” asks Bheem
“all of us.” stated Yudhisthir.
Everyone giggles in response and Abhimanyu, Ruchiparvan, Sutanu and baby girl joins in.

“Unbelievable, just unbelievable, for just a doll you made complete mess of everything?” growled Bheem. “you are just impossible.”
“bhrata I am again apologizing for my mistakes. But atleast try to understand my state too. You are continuing same words since you came here. Why are you helping me in stable when you are so angry with me?” Nakul complained.
“thats because i cant rest peacefully if you work all day idiot.but that doesnt justify your cause. I havent seen anyone to be such obsessed with own daughter that ignoring own duties. You are behaving as if there are no one to take care of your princess. Have you forgotten she is our daughter too?” Bheem was in no mood to calm down.
“bhrata ofcourse I know that. But you all have royal duties. And Panchali has responsibility as queen I cant trouble her. Neither I want to leave my princess in care of maids.” Nakul still tried to explain.
“what about Karenumati then? Why she is still in Chedi. Why dont you write her to come and take care of princess. She is her mother too.” Bheem wondered.
“Dhrishtaketu informed me that Himavan has broken leg falling down from tree branch. You know he is quite naughty compared to other 5 years old child. And then Niramitra is only 2. So I asked Karenu to take care of our sons first although she wanted to come here.” replies Nakul.
“Sarvaga is being trained as crowned prince of Kashi. Valandhara cant come either. Neither Hidimba has entrance here. Although Ghatotkach has just got married. She is busy with mother-in-law duties.” Sighs Bheem.

“Youdheya is made leader of Shivi clan so Devika has responsibility as her mother to help him to follow his dream by establishing own dynasty. Otherwise I would have asked Devika to come and take care of princess.” says Yudhisthir while cradling a sleepy Sutanu in arms.
“samrat till when you will repeat the same words? I am capable to take care of my daughter. Why are you worrying? Your dinner is getting cold here what about that?” Panchali sounds really impatient.
Yudhisthir smiles at his queen’s annoyance. ” I told you Panchali I am not hungry. You cover the food. Maid is there to serve when I will order. You leave, little princess needs you.” says Samrat affectionately.
Panchali silently stands up and takes Sutanu from Yudhisthir and places her on bed covering her up. She has already fallen asleep.
“This is not about hunger Aarya. Its about your concern for your brother that is stopping you from taking meal. But have you thought that if your brothers would come to know that you are starving they will not eat as well? And then what about me? Do you think will I take my meal if I wont feed my husbands?” Panchali says softly holding Yudhisthirs right palm in both hands.
“but Panchali Nakul is working without rest since morning and Bheem has joined him too. Arjun and Sahadev have not returned yet from the works I have assigned to them. How can I have dinner without them?” Yudhisthir was still hesitant.
“So are you going to ignore the order of Samragyi Aarya?” Yajnaseni Draupadi snapped with hands on hips.
Yudhisthir grinned and pulled dark flame closer. His affection wipes queen’s false anger. Samrat brushed a curly locks aside her face and kissed her forehead. “never in my dream my queen” he whispers.
Panchali coyly smilled and pulled him to his sit. Samrat takes satwik ahar that contains pure vegetarian cuisine. Today Panchali prepared his dinner specially. “samrat as king you did right thing. Dont blame yourself. Just give Aaryaputra Nakul some time. He will realize himself soon.” she feeds her samrat with own hand. “and trust me. I will feed all my husbands myself tonight. Please dont worry.” She comforts him.
“I trust you more than myself Panchali” Yudhisthir murmurs making Panchali grin satisfyingly.

“Panchali had the horse hurt you?” asks beautiful prince enveloping mother of his daughter’s slender body in his arm as she has come in stable to feed her both mighty and beautiful husbands. Bheemsen has already taken responsibility of serving the food on his huge shoulder. He was delighted as Panchali cooked his favourite fish and meat items. Maids are helping the Madhyam Pandav so Madri’s elder son got few moments to spend with the dark beauty.
“as if you care” Panchali pouted. “I am just mother of your daughter nothing else. So why will you worry if the horse would have injured or even killed…” Panchali couldn’t finish as Nakul shut her mouth with his lips. His fingers clasped around her dark smoothness. The kiss startled her momentarily then the sweet sensation made her clutching her beautiful husband’s shoulder tightly, burring her nails on his golden skin.
Drinking the sweetness from those lotus petals prince released the queen. “dont ever dare to say that. You dont have idea how precious you are for me.” he whispers against a panting blushing Panchali’s ears.
“Panchali you said you will feed us in own hands. How much will you punish me by making me wait like this?” Bheem’s impatient voice conscious them and Panchali hurriedly recovered herself “here I am aarya” she proceeds and Nakul follows her too with a heavenly smile.
“You know I must thank the horse.” states Bheem as Panchali feeds him and Nakul. “if he wouldnt have messed with my kitchen I wouldnt have gotten a chance to save Panchali and neither you would have cooked for me.” Panchali smiles coyly at his Bheem’s simple remark. Bheem carressed her face with love.
“and credit goes to my stupid little brother too.” Bheem ruffles Nakul’s hair.
Pandav princes and their wife joined in a hearty laugh.

“Badima pitashree and kakashree are coming back” says Abhimanyu excitingly peeping in from window and without waiting for Panchali who was feeding Ruchiparvan specially cooked soup to say anything he runs downstairs. Subhadra smiles to see him running to his father and uncle. Sahadev pats his nephew’s head and Arjun picks his son and with a swing places on his shoulder.
“didi brother Nakul will be upset if he comes to know you have put princess in my care after he denied.” says Subhadra worriedly while swinging the small rocking cradle where beautiful little princess is sleeping peacefully.
“Bhadra I am the mother. I know what is good for my daughter. And then Parvan is perfectly cured now thanks to Ayurvati. Dont take Aryaputra Nakul’s words in heart. He loves his daughter too much.” Panchali assured Subhadra.
“this is called obsession not love.” answered Arjun instead of Subhadra. Both the princes have just entered into room.
“what do you mean Aarya?” Panchali frowned. Subhadra and Sahadev changed a tensed glance. They know if the great archer and daughter of fire start arguing they are unstoppable. And no matters how much Panchali loves her Savyasachi Dhananjaya she cant take any word against any other husbands specially the most beautiful one. She has a weakness for Nakul.
“Krishnaa I meant exactly what I said. Nakul’s love is bordering madness. He has even forgotten how to talk to his bhavi. Havent you seen how he behaved with Bhadra and Abhi in that doll shop?” Arjun snapped.
“Its okey Aarya that was brother Nakul’s love and concern for his daughter.” Subhadra tries to interven.
“No its not okey Bhadra. Nakul is behaving as a teenager who fathered a daughter first time in world. He has three sons already is such kind of obsession expected from him?” Arjun was in no mood to calm down.
“Aarya this obsession I feel is particularly not new in Indraprastha. And younger follows elder’s footstep always.” Agnikanya’s sharp sarcastic tone ranged with a sharp glance towards Arjun’s shoulder.
Following Panchali’s glance Arjun realized he is still carrying Abhimanyu on his shoulder. He hurriedly puts him down. Abhimanyu rushed to the cradle, picks up the princess gently and holding Ruchiparvan’s hand goes out of room. Intelligent prince knows the atmosphere is not suitable for children anymore.
“Krishnaa you are comparing my concern for Abhimanyu with Nakul’s obsession with his daughter?” Arjun was shocked.
“You tell me what is the difference Aryaputra? Abhi is not your firstborn either. Can you deny you pamper him way too much?” Panchali puts hand on hip and tilted her head. Sahadev had a facepalm but Arjun didnt seem to care.
Arjun sighs under breath. He knows Panchali has grievances that he doesnt look after Shrutakarma as he does with Abhimanyu. But he cant help. Ofcourse he has concerns for Karman too as well as to other sons of Draupadi. But Abhimanyu is special.
“Krishnaa did you forget Abhimanyu is the first son of mine with whom I could actually spend time the chance I missed with Iravan and Bavrubahana. And then I train Abhi to be a warrior, the greatest warrior of all the time. Can you deny Abhimanyu is the most talented child anyone had ever seen? You cant compare this with Nakul. Not only Nakul had spent time with all his three sons but he is turning world upside down just because princess sneezed? It seems he has fathered not a girl but a doll. No this obsession is needed to be stopped. I will stop this.” Arjun gasped after talking inone breath.
“fine I had come here to feed my husbands not to hear any condemns for my daughter’s father. I am leaving right now.”
Panchali pushed the braid aside with a force and with angry steps leaves the room.
“Aarya didi had coocked favourite dishes for you all and had come to feed with own hand. And you upset her? That’s not fair.” Subhadra complained in low voice which Sahadev silently approved.
“I think I had gone too far. I must pacify Krishnaa.” Arjun sighs and rushed out of room
“Krishnaa I am sorry.” says Arjun in a very soft yet deep tone. Holding Panchali’s desiriable arm. “please forgive me.”
“who am I to forgive aarya, what does my forgivence matter. Let me go.” Panchali turned her face deliberately avoided looking at Arjun.
“look into my eyes Krishnaa. Arjun lifted her face by holding chin and made her looking at him. “I admit I had become rude. But you know by heart how much I love my brothers. Dont you?”
Panchali stares into those two big brown eyes, whose depth is beyond imagination, which are always filled with every possible emotions, passion, desire, love, aggression, intensity. She loses herself into the brown ocean again as she had in that sayamvar hall. Sakha truly says Arjun’s charm is irresistable.
Warrior’s arm wrapped around queen’s tender shoulder. His lips smoothly brushed against her cheek. His warm breath on her sensitive spot of neck shievered her. “come feed me Krishnaa” his passionate voice ranged into her ears. She had no power to ignore anymore. She closed her eyes leaning against her passionate husband and let him guide her towards the room again where Subhadra and Sahadev were waiting with dinner. The moments she get with her beloved is less but in these moments she lives for eternity.

It took almost midnight to finish the dinner for Subhadra and Panchali after Panchali feeds Arjun and Sahadev. Abhimanyu and Ruchiparvan have fallen asleep already. Subhadra was cradling the princess after changing her wet clothes. Panchali noticed Arjun was whispering something into Sahadev’s ears and both are giggling.
“Aarya! Dont tell me you are planning to do any mischief with my husband”. She was sure there was something going on in her mischievous husband’s mind.
“Aarya! You tell me what you were talking about. Panchali turns to Sahadev.
“nothing Panchali bhrata was just asking when Vijaya will come back. I said Suhatra is only a year old. They will be back after few more months.” Sahadev’s answers didnt seem much convincing to Panchali.
“Aarya you wont do anything with my aryaputra Nakul.” Panchali warns Arjun.
“you can be sure Krishnaa I wont do anything with your aryaputra Nakul.” Arjun assures. “if I do anything will do with my brother Nakul.” he adds mischievously.
Panchali gazed at him angrily then taking princess from Subhadra she places her on Sahadev’s lap.
“what are you waiting for Aarya. Isnt it time to sleep? Gudakesha might not need it but we the normal people do need it.” she made face at Arjun wrapping Sahadev’s biceps with her arms and pulled him towards his mahal. It was her year with youngest husband.
Sahadev smiles at his brother helplessly and Arjun signals him to go with a wink that none noticed. But Sahadev nods understandingly.

“Aarya you are not planning to make any mischief with Nakul and his daughter. Are you?” Subhadra asks after Panchali and Sahadev leave. She was sure same as Panchali that her husband is upto something.
“if I even plan you can be assured that’s nothing as dangerous as what I am planning to do with you now.” Arjun gave a disarming smile as he proceeds to his delicate princess.
A shocked Subhadra notices the glint in her husband’s passionate eyes. She knows the meaning of which very well.
“Aarya no! See boys are sleeping.” She steps back.
“but we are awake. Let them sleep if Abhi is at all awake he is smart enough to pretend to sleep. And then we dont have only one room in this entire mahal.
he pulled Subhadra’s delicate figure and enveloped in his rough arms. His fingers start tickling on her butter like smooth skin of uncovered waist.
“Aarya stop it” Subhadra giggled and tried to push him away. But of no avail. Ignoring all her resistance Arjun picks her up and claimed her mouth by his.
Subhadra loses herself to Arjun’s passion and gets carried towards the nearby bedroom.

Nakul’s Daughter

I always write on some unique topic. From an article just got to know about Nakul and Draupadi had a daughter too. Here is the link https://www.facebook.com/MahabharatKiGalatiyan/posts/523741514405402 Well I don’t know what is the authenticity of this article but well the idea seems nice since Nakul is such beauty conscious pretty prince he will surely be delighted if he has a daughter. *************************************************************************************************************************************************** It was a peaceful morning in Indraprastha. Samrat Yudhisthir was sitting in courtroom absorbed with his royal duties and surrounded by his men and Brahmins. Bheemsen was experimenting a new recipe in kitchen. Arjun had taken seven years old Abhimanyu for a hunting lesson in forest as usual. Subhadra was  in her chamber taking care of two years old Ruchiparvan who had just caught cold. Sahadev was as usual lost in some experiment with medicine for the cattle. Draupadi was in temple with 4 years old Suthanu. Upapandavas were taken to Panchal to take part in some ritual there. But there was simply no trace of prince Nakul. He even didn’t visit the practice ground for routine practice. “where is Rajkumar Nakul? “Asks Dhoumya the royal priest. “I didn’t see him visiting temple for many days.” Yudhisthir frowned. He didn’t think about this earlier. But now he realized he didn’t notice Nakul for a while too. He didn’t have come to take his blessings as other brothers in this morning. “I must have to check the matter after court ends.” He thinks Sahadev was applying medicine to the cattle. Suddenly poor cows started panicking and running here and there. A confused Sahadev  found the reason in front the new royal horse of the stable is approaching towards the cattle. The majestic looking reddish horse (chitrashwa, which comes for persia for royal Kshatriyas) was brought in palace only a week back. Still it didn’t forget its wild nature. ” why the horse approaching here? Where is Nakul to tame him?” Although astonished Sahadev managed to order the cattle and send them to their room. And then he finds out the reason of horse running madly. “brother Bheem why are you frightening the poor creature?” screamed Sahadev seeing Bheemsen chasing the horse with his mace. “you found this devil poor? Do you know what he had just done? He had rushed into my kitchen and made a mess of it. He finished all the food which i was cooking since morning. I will just kill him off.” Bheem was fuming. Sahadev was having a hard time suppressing his laughter. But he managed to hug Bheemsen. Although Vrikodar was still running taking along his youngest brother clinging with him but his pace had been slowed down surely and in the meantime horse disappeared towards the gate. “Dev will you leave me or going to taste my mace in stead of that stupid horse?” Bheem was still furious. “Brother please calm down. Just think it was brother Yudhisthir’s order that the horse was brought in Indraprastha how can you kill it without brother’s consent. Sahadev’s words put Bheem in dilemma and he stopped. Only then a scream from woman and child’s voice made them running towards the gate. “Panchali!!!” horrified brothers found Panchali helplessly standing clutching crying Suthanu in her arm tightly, her panicked maids  running  here and there but Panchali was right in front a car, hence she had no place to move. “Panchali throw Suthanu here?” shouts Sahadev as he sees Bheem approaching to her in no less than  speed of the horse. Panchali nods and threw Suthanu to Sahadev who dived  and caught the child. “Panchali close your eyes” commands Bheem as he threw himself in air. Panchali obeys and moment before the horse would have jumped over her Bheem swipe Panchali’s off her feet lifting her slim shivering body in the safe shelter of his muscular arms. The horse crashed the car and moved forward. Before all of them could recover from the sudden shock they could hear- “hey hey Abhi keep safe distance its all right” And Arjun’s voice made brothers running again forgetting to put down respective people they are carrying. All the chaos had drawn Yudhisthir who was approaching to his room after the royal duties near the gate too. Seeing him Abhimanyu comes running to him “taatshree look what a fun”  he laughs and claps And the sight before him was quite amusing must admit. Arjun was mounting the newly brought royal horse and trying to calm it down. Sahadev was cuddling a crying Suthanu in a distance. And most importantly Bheem was standing with anger in eyes and a clearly horrified Panchali in arms. But in all these one person is still missing. “Where the hell is Nakul?” Bheem echoed Yudhisthir’s thought. “Was not it his duty to take care of horses? I will break his ribs after i see him and ofcourse of this horse too.” “Aarya for that you would have to release me first.” Panchali scolds embarrassingly realizing the surrounding. “no no Krishnaa you better stay there. Till you are there Nakul and this poor horse will remain safe.” states Arjun from horseback causing Panchali’s casting an angry glace to him and he smirked. Yudhisthir could not help but smile and so is others. Arjun is always Arjun. No matter what situation is he never loses his cool. “but where is aryaputra Nakul seriously?” asks Draupadi as Bheem slowly puts her down. “me too have not seen him in dressing room too.” “that’s everyone’s question here” says Yudhisthir worriedly . “What is going on here?” a confused Subhadra reached there. “Bhadra why have you come here leaving Parvan?” Arjun asks with concerns. “Ayurvati(the hereditary brahmin lady  doctor for royal woman and child)  is treating him aarya and she asked me to leave her alone with prince and i heard Panchali didi’s scream from garden. So rushed here.” “oh Ayurvati reached here already. Did she check  baby princess? What did she say?” asks Panchali. “but didi! Ayurvati said she didn’t find princess in her room. She thought child must be with her mother?” Subhadra’s beautiful eyes became wide. “with me? Why will i take a nine months old child to temple in early morning? I took only Suthanu there.” Panchali frowned. “then where is rajkumari?” asked Abhimanyu to his mothers. “hold on, till now only Nakul was missing and now his daughter too is missing?” Arjun’s comment comes from horseback again. He now have successfully tamed the horse. “i think there must be a connection between the two missing case.” states Yudhisthir. “but if that’s the case where did he take the baby princess?” asks Sahadev. “I know that” Answer comes from most unexpected person. “Suthanu!!!” how did you know that?” Everyone was astonished. Suthanu runs down from Sahadev’s lap as he releases her and she goes to Abhimanyu “bhrata remember you had taken me to that dollmaker’s shop? Kakashree was talking to rajkumari about taking her there last night.” “what???” that was a chorus sound from elders again. “Abhi you know the place? Can you take us there?” asks Arjun controlling himself first. “avashya pitashree” smiled Abhimanyu proudly. “come here.” Arjun picked Abhimanyu on horseback. ” Sahadev you brought others in chariot.” “Bheem you wont go. You have to be calm down first.” ordered Yudhisthir. “but i must go bhrata.” Bheem groaned. “this is samrat’s order, you cant deny.” says Panchali “you better play with Suthanu sometimes that will help you to forget anger” she places Suthanu on his lap which Suthanu’s father smilingly approved. Yudhisthir knows his daughter can wipe away her jyesht kakashree’s anger with magic. Leaving Bheem with Suthanu everyone follows Arjun and Abhimanyu’s horse in chariot. Reaching the place what they witnessed they at first forgot to react. Leaving everything behind in Indraprastha the beautiful pandava prince is sitting in doll shop with his angelic daughter on lap being surrounded by various dolls and many doll like small girls. “Will you care to explain what is wrong with you Nakul?” Yudhisthir’s voice was quite grave. “how can you show such irresponsibility with your duties?” Nakul gasped to see so many angry faces surrounding him. The tiny doll shop has turned into the royal assembly of Indraprastha. The poor doll maker was standing far away with folding hands and was sweating profusely in tension. “Do you have any idea what would have happened today if brother Bheem wouldn’t have saved Panchali in time? Not only Panchali even Sutanu was about to get wounded.” Sahadev was no less angry. He was ignoring that Nakul is few moments elder to him. “This horse could jump on Abhimanyu too if i have not caught its rein.” added Arjun from horseback. Abhimanyu giggled remembering the incident still sitting on horseback. “Aarya will you care to come down from the horse if you are done with caressing him who had nearly wounded Panchali didi and her daughter?” Subhadra said with an annoyed tone. “correction Bhadra not wounded but the horse had nearly killed us. But our Aarya does what he only wants.” taunted equally annoyed Panchali and turned to Abhimanyu. ” Abhi come down” she ordered and Abhimanyu obeys his badima. He listens to Panchali more than anyone even Arjun. Arjun had to come down as well. And he stood holding Abhimanyu’s shoulders with a mischievous smile to his wives that wiped away their annoyance. Arjun has this charm anyway. “Nakul we are waiting.” says Yudhisthir with equal grave tone. “Actually i wanted to get my princess a doll as beautiful as the one Abhimanyu got Sutanu. But even Aryavart’s best doll maker doesn’t have another doll of such kind. So i brought all the small pretty baby girls of capital here so that doll maker could make a doll seeing them. Nakul’s answer made everyone speechless momentarily. “Aarya If you would have told me earlier i would have asked Sutanu and she could have happily shared her doll with her little sister.” says Pancchali softly. All her worry, tension, anger caused by her beautiful husband’s irresponsible behaviour was melted by his explanation. “but Panchali that’s exactly what i don’t want. Sutanu may be your elder daughter but she is just a baby herself. I cant see her hurt. That too its a doll that our Abhimanyu gifted our Sutanu. Their sentiments must be valued.” Everyone was overwhelmed by Nakul’s word and don’t feel like to scold him. Yudhisthir signaled Sahadev to talk to the doll maker and compensate him for whatever mess the royal family caused to his shop. Subhadra meantime found Arjun whispering something in Abhimanyu’s ears indicating the baby girls in shop with as usual mischief in eyes. She frowned with susceptive eyes but her Aaryaputra gave an innocent smile to her. “spare Abhi Aarya , he is just 7.” murmured Subhadra and she moved close to her husband and son. “but for our daughter you cant trouble others daughter this way Aarya.” Panchali sits beside her beautiful husband and strokes the curly traces of her younger daughter. Its quite a long hours she didn’t see her angel. Her eyes become moist to see most beautiful baby girl of universe peacefully laying on father’s lap. The princess inherited molten gold like complexion and sharp feature as her father, and large black eyes with long eyelashes, thick dark hair as mother with perfectly curved pink lips, a smile that was stolen from blossoming flowers, soft smooth skin as butter and with that a very joyous nature. Mothers touch stirred her and she gifted her heavenly smile with such gesture that even made not only elders but the kids smiling too. “do you see these girls in any trouble Panchali? I have promised them if they come with me they can have all the dolls they want. Look at them.” With Nakul’s words everyone found every girls present there are busy playing with toys quite happily. “and how did you manage to convince their parents to send them with you?” asked amused Yudhisthir. “simple i told them that i will cover them with golden ornaments if they send them with me.” Nakul answered simply. Yudhisthir didn’t know what else to say. So he took the king’s role. “whatever the reason is but you ignored your duty prince Nakul. So now you have to spend whole day looking after the royal stable. Only after all the horses are cared well only then you can enter into palace.” stated Yudhisthir and turned to other brothers. “Arjun and Sahadev give the doll maker his due and bring the doll he is making for princess.and also give the girls what Nakul has promised to them and their parents and take them to their home.” Yudhisthir left for the chariot ignoring the changing colour of Nakul’s face. “but how will i be able to stay whole day without seeing my princess?” Nakul’s voice chocked. He cant disobey Yudhisthir’s words but the very thought was bringing tears in eyes. “brother Nakul don’t worry.” Subhadra felt need to console his loveble brother in law.. “your princess will remain in my care till you are done with your duties. She was about to bent down to pick princess but before that Nakul stood up like electrified and stepped back holding daughter tightly. Little princess winced in sudden jerk but didn’t cry. But everyone was shocked with his behaviour. “please bhabhi don’t touch her.” says Nakul that increased everyone’s shocked status only. “don’t take me wrong but you were taking care of Parvan and he is sick. I don’t want my daughter catches any infection.” continued Nakul. “Aarya!” Panchali was about to say something but Nakul cut her down. “No Panchali don’t tell me anything. You don’t know princess has sneezed twice. I cant take any risk.” The girl was stretching arm at her brother. Abhimanyu is everyone’s favourite brother. Abhi stepped to play with her petal like fingers but Nakul pushed his hand. “No Abhi you have dust in your hand, you cant touch her now.” says Nakul. “Nakul!!!” fumed Arjun. He was till now wondering what has happened to his beautiful and cheerful brother but now his patience has reached to its limit. If Sahadev wouldn’t have held his shoulder he would have slapped Nakul surely for being such rude with his moonlike prince. “i think bhrata Nakul is right.” says Subhadra hurriedly to handle the situation. “come Abhi you have to go to Gurukul too.” she pulled Abhimanyu to chariot with a tensed look to her husband. She knows Arjun doesn’t let matter go if things come to Abhimanyu. panchali knows that too. So she felt need to end the matter as soon as possible.”Aarya give her to me. She is needed to be fed.” says Panchali still looking at Arjun’s eyes indicating him not to react. “Okay but carefully Panchali.” Nakul unwillingly let piece of his heart go. “Aarya i am her mother. Hope you didn’t forget that i gave  birth to her.” Panchali again has started feeling annoyed with Nakul’s overpossesive behaviour. To see her annoyance Nakul didn’t dare to say anything more and proceeded towards the horse as Panchali too left with her girl. “bhrata Arjun what are you thinking? We are getting late, we have to fulfill jyeshth bhrata’s order.” calls Sahadev seeing thoughful Arjun. Something was going on in Arjun’s mind. But he proceeded to do his duties without a word.

Krishnaa
I may not be a great admirer of the heroine of Mahabharata but that doesn’t make me a hater of her. I believe she was human, not a goddess. But isn’t that a credit? Being one of us with extraordinary qualities than being divine and distant? For me Draupadi was human. Like us. She had normal flaws and drawbacks and that makes her special. That is the beauty of her character. I may not love her blindly but I am always inclined towards her for her human nature. So this Point of View of hers tells that tale. Lots of discussion had been done on my relationship with my sakha, my husbands, my enemies, my co-wives but there are little talks till now on my relationship with my maiden family, relationship with my father and brothers.

My father King Yajnasen was always a loving father to me. I was his pride. Well pride is the one thing that was hereditary in our family. Panchal’s royal family was one of the most  respectable and aristocratic Kshatriya dynasty in Aryavart. We were proud of our honorable lineage, our position and power. That was not wrong to be proud if that pride doesn’t make you underestimate others. The same mistake panchalas made again and again. My father was a powerful king of Aryavart. And also a great warrior of his time. People respected him and feared him for his strictness. But he was never a tyrant. It was just his ego that used to make him keeping distance from Panchal’s citizens and he never let me and my brothers merge with commoners either.

Me and my twin brother Dhrish were youngest children of Yajnasen Drupad. Our grandfather king Prishita was still alive when we were born. And watching my dark skin he was first to bless me with the name Krishnaa. The name that only Sakha and his Parth kept addressing later on.
For father I was Panchali, the pride of Panchal. The name that was associated to my respectable blood that I carried throughout my life.

Nothing is known about my mother because she died in childbirth, not because we were born out of fire. After mother’s death we were sent in care of our maternal grandparents. They were rulers of Hindukush mountainous region. We were so small then that I can’t remember about my maternal home properly. Neither I met people of that family ever in my life again.

When we were 5 we were sent to Gurukul . Father wanted me too to learn Vedas,Upanishads, literature, philosophy, science as other princes of Aryavart. Although Brahmins and sages were hesitant to teach those to a woman, but my intellect impressed those teachers and I was well accepted as student.

When we were in Gurukul that was the time father’s childhood friend and son of his teacher Rishi Bharadwaj Dronacharya had come to meet him. And as I said before father’s pride and ego stopped him recognizing his poor Brahmin friend. Yes it was no doubt a great mistake of father to insult old friend like that but couldn’t guru Drona too approach him alone in stead of courtroom where all the royal persons and commoners are present? I feel it was not right place to remind father of childhood promises of giving half kingdom  in front everyone. That must have embarrassed him who was absorbed in royal duties and always wanted to maintain distance from his subjects. Approaching him like that could have encouraged anyone to demand anything or accuse him to be partial to friend. Yes father was too harsh to guru Drona and that was no way justified, he could very well ask him to meet him after court but all I want to say there was some reason from father’s part as well. Perhaps situation would have been different if Guru Drona would have approached him in private. But anyway I was not present there, I have no right to judge the situation. All I know that one incident gave birth to the consequences that changed my father into a more vengeful and angry persona that led to change the very direction of my life forever.

Introduction and Overview – I may not be a great admirer of the heroine of Mahabharata but that doesn’t make me a hater of her. I believe she was human, not a goddess. But isn’t that a credit? Being one of us with extraordinary qualities than being divine and distant? For me Draupadi was human. Like us. She had normal flaws and drawbacks and that makes her special. So much research had been done as to who I was in my previous birth and what boon I obtained from lord Maheswara. But truly speaking I never had the slightest idea of that. I never could understand how can Supreme lord give such boon to a girl only because she asked for a groom five times. She will get married to five? Maheswar can’t be so unjust. So, surely I don’t believe such previous life stories. All I can say that since childhood I wanted to get married to a man who would be wise, mighty, valourous, handsome and intelligent and I feel every girl wishes to get a groom with these qualities. That never gets them married to more than one person, so why was my wish was different? My dreams and desires were normal.
I knew my father wished to get me married to Pandava prince Arjuna, he was moved by young prince’s valour. That time all I had was the curiosity to know who was Arjun, but it was sakha’s magical words which drowned me towards Sabyasachi. When sakha used to start talking about him, he didn’t want to stop, his eyes used to get filled with some magical happiness as if he knew Arjuna for ages But truth was that sakha too never met him before. Initially i used to feel jealous that sakha’s attention turns away from me while talking about his Parth but gradually I realized there was some different connection between these two that I never will be able to trace. I learned to respect the magical connection. So I got attracted to Arjuna through sakha, the handsome archer who occupies sakha’s thought to this extent must be very very special! There was no reason to not accept him as my destiny
Everyone thinks I was meant to marry Dhananjaya, but it was not the case at first. It was my father’s wish to get me married to either Arjuna or a valiant archer same as him. It is because when my sayamvar was being arranged, whole Aryabarta knew that Pandavas are dead in Varnavat fire accident. Only a mysterious smile playing on sakha’s lips made me guessing something… But he was never clear. So I really was not sure whom I was going to give my garland to. When I was shown the paintings of my prospective grooms it was not only of Sabyasachi’s one which i looked at with eyes of appreciation.

When the portraits were brought into my room Sakha was silently standing next to the portrait of Arjuna, his eyes were glued to it. I realized for the first time that as me sakha too got to see his Parth for first time. Just like us sakha-sakhi, Dhananjaya too was a dark skinned one. I surprisingly discovered a resemblance between him and sakha’s feature and that caused me to fall for him more. Of course Arjuna was extremely handsome, his broad shoulder had marks of carrying bow and that was visible even in his royal attire, he didn’t try to conceal those ugly marks.I understood Dhananjaya was least bothered about his outer appearance. That casual approach was evident in his persona and that made him more desirable in woman’s eyes. If i leave Krishna aside, Prince Arjuna’s charm was unparallel. His appeal would make all fair-skinned princes ashamed. Although I couldn’t give my full attention to kiriti’s painting as Govind was caressing it lovingly as though he was feeling his Parth through the portrait. I didn’t disturb him and moved to other Pandava brother’s portraits leaving Madhav alone with Parth.
My eyes were caught up by the twins painting first and as a woman I was simply spellbound to see Nakula. I never could imagine such a beautiful person can exist in this world, his complexion was that of glittering gold, his feature was as sharp as some sculpture on rock , his perfect sharp nose , big deep blue eyes , perfectly curved chin , rose petal like lips , perfectly shaped muscular yet lanky figure made me thinking that great creator Brahmadev created prince Nakul collecting the loveliness from every beautiful object of heaven and earth. I felt, unlike his elder he was quite conscious of his outlook. I will be a liar if i say i was not attracted towards him. And that was quite natural for a young princess as me.
Sahadev was quite overshadowed by his twin, but that wheatish skinned handsome youth caught my attention with his shining eyes full of intelligence. I understood this youngest Pandava prince is gifted with highest level of intellects and don’t know why i felt he will be perfectly matched with my wave length.
I started respecting Yudhisthira at very first glance. He was fair skinned white as silver, the serenity of his face was comparable to that of Lord Maheswara only. His whole appearance resembled Lord Shankara. I felt an urge to touch the feet of this handsome man who showed me the beauty of calmness.I wondered how innocently sweet can a huge person like Bheemsen look. A tanned copperish skinned Vrikodar was no less handsome but perhaps the sight of his big feature of a wrestler overshaddowed his handsomeness. But it was his innocence that captivated me. I felt he had a most simple heart among all. And also a feeling of depending on him rose in my mind, of which I didn’t know the reason..

Then I moved towards other paintings , but none as such caught my attention. I came towards prince of Hastinapur Duryodhan’s painting, although he too had handsome appearance but the unnecessary proudness and arrogance affected the whole outlook of him. That stopped me to appreciate him. I couldn’t even bear the sight of prince Duhshasan’s lustful eyes that was evident in the portrait , i even didn’t care to see whether he had something good in his look, i immediately moved from there.
After visiting all the paintings i came to the last one , i wondered who was this tremendous handsome man with a complexion like bright sunlight having an appearance of warrior yet an ancient sadness in his intense eyes? Except Nakula i didn’t s see this sharp feature of him in anyone else, his hands and shoulders too carried the marks of bow same as Dhananjaya proving him a devoted archer as Arjuna The burning aura of the Sun was present in his appearance yet his face was strangely devoid from any happiness , quite composed and grave expression did his gloomy face had. i found the man different from all, why no ancestry of him was given unlike others? “Karna,” , king of Anga but not a prince or Kshatriya either, he is son of a charioteer named Adhirath ,an ally to Duryodhan , biggest rival of Arjuna.”The answer came from sakha. I turned towards him and found him standing at same posture still looking at his Parth only. I knew sakha could read the thoughts so was not surprised. Son of a charioteer? suta-putra?how is that possible?his appearance tells something else, even a blind person can understand that Karna was from a respectable lineage only, I thought.
Being utterly confused i looked at Sakha , he continued with an annoyed tone, “Basusena thinks he is greater than Sabyasachi in every aspect , and his goal of life is to make Dhananjaya look down, for that this proud , headstrong man can go to any extent , be it lieing to greatest teacher lord Parasurama , or befriending with cunning Duryodhan by taking alms of Anga kingdom, and Sakha kept on narrating how the rivalry of Karna-Arjun started and the burning hatred reached to the level of threatening for killing each other.
All in while i looked at sakha’s eyes , his tone was all sarcastic towards Karna but there was a subtle pain hiding in his eyes which immediately i could connect to the ancient sadness of Karna’s eyes. I realized sakha has great respect towards his Parth’s arch enemy. Something remained unspoken, unrevealed which in spite of curiosity i didn’t dig but that ancient sadness left a mark on me.
All the night my maids kept discussing on Dhananjaya. I enjoyed that, but whenever they were on taunting over Bheem’s well known appetite or comparing his feature to that of giants, or they made fun of Yudhisthir’s saint like calmness saying he was more fit in forest among sages, or commented on Nakula’s womanly beauty consciousness or Sahadev’s bridal shyness, I scolded them harshly. They thought i have already considered Dhananjaya’s family as my own but truth was something else. I simply couldn’t tolerate any word against any of them.

I may not be a great admirer of the heroine of Mahabharata but that doesn’t make me a hater of her. Yes i believe she was a human not a goddess but isn’t that a credit of being one of us with extraordinary qualities than being divine and distant? Krishna, Basudev, Govind, Keshav more uncountable his names or more uncountable his forms i don’t know, but upon meeting him i became calm, i was not worried about my future anymore. One enchanting smile from him and i was all for him. Krishna-Krishnaa, Sakha-Sakhi for ages our relation has been questioned, judged from many angle but i can swear nothing was pure than our friendship. yes i loved him unconditionally, it was not same as i loved my brothers, father, relatives, later my husbands and sons, this love was different or may be more deeper. There was no expectation in our friendship. If sakha wanted to marry me, i would have agreed without any thought, but i never felt bad when he refused to take me as wife as per father’s proposal , which he gave seeing our bond. I had taken sakha’s rejection as normal as everyday affair, as if that was bound to happen.
I always knew sakha has some plans with me, from very first meeting i had handed him the right to shape my life. he cleared to me at first place that i was a tool for him to map some larger event for some larger purpose. he had told me the path he has chosen for me that won’t be decorated with flowers, i might had to face worst hardship, i will be hurt at body, mind, soul, my heart can be broken into several pieces and my own beloved may cause the pain and even after life long endurance, i might be questioned through ages, i can be humiliated throughout my life and after my life too, my purity will remain as a great doubt always. But al possibilities ofl this harsh reality had no effect on me. Because i knew through thick and thin sakha will be there.
“I trust you” i said holding his hands , looking into his captivating eyes, “put me through as much tests even lord Shiva didn’t put devi Parvati, I will accept them all. Mother had won Maheswara at last i don’t know whether i will at all win or loose in the end, still i will follow you, Design my life as you wish, i will go by that., because my belief is on you.”
I silently accepted when Sakha prohibited me to take lessons of martial skills such as archery, fencing, mounting horse, driving chariot, despite my eagerness to learn and my ability to receive all knowledge quickly. Everyone in Palace was surprised with sakha’s this decision of not making me a warrior princess when even learned teachers were eager to get me as student
“If sakhi will be able to protect herself and to avenge her offenders then it will be grave injustice to the valiant princes of Aryabarta , what will be their need if they don’t get opportunity to protect this gem?” as usual his face lit up with mysterious smile , none understood his words not even me, but i accepted. “sakhi won’t remember her sakha if she is able to prohibit the danger” i know sakha cracked joke but those very words helped me to take the decision i won’t take lessons to be warrior. Let my knowledge remain incomplete if that helps sakha in his goal then i am happy to remain incomplete.
Now i know why i am different, this level of devotion to only a friend is unimaginable for normal people isn’t it? but there is no friend as sakha ,you all worship him don’t you know how inevitable, irresistible the attraction toward him? when Radha’s unconditional devotion toward him is worshiped why mine is questioned, but anyway in all these questions too we sakha-sakhi is center of discussion so i am happy about that.
All said and done it was my love for him, even arya Dhananjaya too was devoted to sakha, perhaps even more than me, his all existence depended on sakha, but sakha had put me through tests. i know the reason. sakha never could endure his Parth in slightest pain. so he saved all those for mine. if he had to choose between sakha and sakhi without second thought he would choose sakha over sakhi , parth was everything for his madhav and vise versa. still i didn’t feel bad. it didn’t matter how important Krishnaa was for Krishna , i only knew Krishna was ultimate for Krishnaa

Over the ages i had been most controversial woman in Indian culture , Mythology , History. Century after century scholars had researched , debated over me, authors created own fantasy , people feared me, worshiped me , yet used my name as an abuse. I had been considered a symbol for woman power , the epitome of feminism by feminist. I had been sympathized, respected, admired, fared , loved , hated but end conclusion of everyone was i am not a normal woman., perhaps a form of goddess shakti or daughter of fire, or symbol of revenge , destruction personified. I might have obtained divine boon or curse, i am counted as eternal vergins , one of sacred five maidens (panchakanya) whatever it is i am not a normal human being with flesh and blood. I am Yagyaseni, born from fire of Yagya, Draupadi , daughter of king Drupad, Panchali princess of Panchal, Krishnaa, having the darkish skin. Being born from sacred sacrificial fire made my life as a sacrifice but i am not considered symbol of sacrifice , mine being devoted to my husbands doesn’t count me in same line of Sita , Damayanti , Savitri. But you know what? i am happy about that. , because behind all these heavy words of my identity i am just me , a simple normal woman which people forgets.
From the very beginning i was a normal princess with usual demands and dreams. i never knew with which motive great creator created me same as other beings. i knew i was called most beautiful woman of my time by closed ones , although enjoyed the praise but honestly i never felt like to be the one. . i was lacked the main condition to meet the traditional conception of beauty- the fair skin, i always had a grievance about that , i was quite sensitive about my skin color. having the royal blood in vein i had temper, i used to talk harsh at times and i knew people used to fear that but i feel that also a characteristic of royal Kshatriya princess , obviously that doesn’t make me different , not that i was disrespectful anyway. I used to question whenever i felt something is not going right as per me , i didn’t hesitate to raise question to my elders or even to the powerful sages or Brahmins whom normally people fears to face. My this behavior was considered a proud one or as the strength of my character, but it was only my inquisitiveness that used to drive me to question.
People says creator has adorned me with all possible qualities but i knew it was only my wish to learn. Probably this was the only gift i received from the creator , my thirst for knowledge , be it of any kind. I studied Vedas , Purana , i learn fine arts and culinary skill all because i loved to learn. I was not gifted by such qualities i acquired them. May be my only born quality was ability to receive knowledge from different field. I was proud of my qualities well that is not unnatural , i was called proud princess but truly my pride never covered my humbleness so even there too i was not different .
Like any other young girl , i used to spend time with impossible imagination, i used to cry , laugh , be angry , be cheerful absolutely like any normal girl .
Being born from fire was what that makes me different? but do you really believe anyone can born from fire? It was not reality it was symbolic. My twin brother Dhristadyumna and me both were born from mother’s womb only. The fact was that the fire of revenge in father’s heart controlled our life, we were not more than 12 then when Father got defeated and humiliated and arranged the sacrificial offerings to acquire the boons to take the revenge, He wanted to fulfill his goal through Dhrit only but gods decided me to be prepared for an ultimate event. Which event i didn’t know. I still don’t know what i obtained was a boon or curse. I only knew that sacrificial fire changed the direction of my life. Dhristadyumna was sure about his goal of life- killing father’s friend turned enemy Dronacharya but my life was like rudderless ship, i was not a normal princess any more my life couldn’t go normally , but i still was not sure in which direction my life will go , what is making me different. What is the ultimate event? that can change history of Aryabarta? how come i alone be the reason? This question used to make me restless and scared too. In such a state of dilemma as a royal guest of Panchal, sakha entered into my life, to give the direction that i was looking for.
